President inaugurates systems of the Niassa rural water project, which includes Majune
President Daniel Chapo inaugurated the Mandimba and Mavago systems of the project funded by Japan through JICA. The Majune system, part of the same project, was built by SC Nasser.
On 21 May 2026, President Daniel Chapo inaugurated the Mandimba and Mavago water supply systems in Niassa, under the Project for the Construction of Rural Water Infrastructure in Niassa Province, funded by the Government of Japan through JICA. According to the press, the project also covers the districts of Majune and Muembe.
The Majune water supply system, part of the same project, was built by SC Nasser as subcontractor to TONE Engineering Corporation between 2023 and 2025: two 10-inch production boreholes, a DN 200 rising main and a 33 kV medium-voltage grid connection with a 100 kVA transformer station.
